Postdoc in Developmental Psychology at Utrecht University, Netherlands
This postdoctoral position is part of the transdisciplinary FUTUREPROOF team at Utrecht University, within the Developmental Psychology Program in the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The project is funded by an NWO Open Competition Large grant and runs for 2.5 years (initial 1-year contract with possible extension for 18 months).
The research focuses on climate change education and climate communication for youth. The aim is to develop a transformative approach that combines realistic climate information with hope and agency, moving beyond threat-based “doom-and-gloom” messaging. The project will use a mixed-methods approach to crowdsource and co-create scalable educational and communication methods, then evaluate their effects in educational settings.

The role involves collaboration with experts in psychology, education, and communication science, as well as educational professionals and youth. Mentorship is provided to support independent research development and grant writing.
