About this position

Aarhus University is recruiting a Postdoc in DNA/RNA nanotechnology and cell regulation within the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO) / Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics.

The position is part of the ERC-funded BioRIcON project and focuses on developing nucleic acid-based biohybrid interlocked molecules (BIMs), including artificial motors and switches, to probe and modulate cellular pathways. The work sits at the intersection of DNA/RNA nanotechnology, nucleic acid chemistry, cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology, with potential biomedical applications.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field such as molecular biology, nanotechnology, biochemistry, nanoscience, medicinal chemistry, or chemistry. Required experience includes nucleic acid chemistry and/or DNA/RNA nanotechnology. Experience with cell assays, cell biology, and microscopy methods such as EM, TIRF, or AFM is a strong advantage; aptamer development, flow cytometry, binding assays, and confocal microscopy are additional pluses. Strong English skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an international team are required.

The appointment is a 2-year fixed-term, full-time postdoc starting around 1 June 2026. The application deadline is 12 April 2026 at 23:59 CEST. Applications must be submitted in English through Aarhus University’s recruitment system and include a CV, degree certificate, publication list, research plan, and relevant teaching/research documentation.

The role offers access to state-of-the-art facilities, a supportive interdisciplinary environment, and collaboration across academia and industry. The post is based at iNANO, Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark.
