The research project centers on developing and optimizing environmentally friendly processes for recycling Li-ion batteries, with a particular emphasis on hydrometallurgical techniques for the recovery of lithium and other valuable metals. The successful candidate will be responsible for process development, communication with project partners, dissemination of results, and supervision of master's and/or PhD students. There are also opportunities to engage in teaching at the undergraduate or master's level.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree or equivalent in a relevant field, with strong English communication skills and experience in hydrometallurgy, chemistry, and analytical methods. Preference is given to candidates who completed their doctorate within the last three years and have experience in process development using hydrometallurgical techniques. Only citizens of countries that are signatories of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons are eligible. Physical presence in Sweden is required for the duration of the employment, and a valid residence permit must be presented by the start date.
The position is a full-time, temporary employment for two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension.
