About this position

KTH Royal Institute of Technology is recruiting a Postdoc in Production Management focused on AI, machine learning, sustainable production, resilient production systems, and circular manufacturing.

The position sits in the Department of Production Engineering within Industrial Production at KTH and is connected to the XPRES Excellence Centre of Production Research and the Vinnova-funded BATT:RY project on sustainable and circular battery value chains.

The research agenda includes how AI can support production planning, coordination of material flows, uncertainty management, and decision-making in complex industrial environments where human decision-makers remain central. The role also involves work on circular manufacturing systems such as remanufacturing, recycling, and reverse logistics, with collaboration across academic and industrial partners.

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree or equivalent foreign degree by the time of the employment decision. The ad asks for documented research expertise, publication ability in international journals, and a strong background in production and operations management, sustainable production, industrial and systems engineering, or related areas. Experience with data science, AI, machine learning, simulation, production planning, operational performance management, and optimization is preferred.

The appointment is a temporary full-time postdoctoral position for up to two years with monthly salary. The post may also include teaching at basic, advanced, and postgraduate levels.

To apply, use KTH’s recruitment system and submit a complete application with CV, publication list, diplomas and grades, translations if needed, and a short statement of research interests and motivation. The deadline is 17 June 2026.
