The Secure Systems Group (SSG) at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in systems security, with a particular emphasis on hardware-assisted software protection. This full-time, two-year appointment offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of security and privacy research, contributing to themes such as platform security, application security, and the intersection of machine learning with security and privacy.
Successful candidates will join a dynamic research environment, collaborating closely with Professors Panos Papadimitratos and N. Asokan. SSG is renowned for designing, building, and analyzing trustworthy systems, tackling a wide range of security and privacy challenges from both offensive and defensive perspectives. The group has a strong track record of industry and academic collaborations, and its research agenda is supported by significant expertise and leadership in the field.
As a postdoctoral fellow, you will have the opportunity to lead your own research projects, gain experience in student supervision and mentoring, and develop the skills necessary to become an independent academic. The position is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and offers attractive benefits, good working conditions, and a creative, diverse, and inclusive environment at one of Europe's leading technical universities.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (or equivalent foreign degree) by the time of employment and demonstrate significant research expertise in systems security, particularly hardware-assisted mechanisms for software protection. Proficiency in English, collaborative abilities, and strong motivation are essential. Preferred qualifications include recent doctoral completion, teaching and supervision experience, industry research background, prior work on security/privacy and AI, and awareness of diversity and gender equality issues.
To apply, candidates should submit a complete application via KTH's recruitment system, including a cover letter, CV, statement of purpose, transcripts, publication list, up to three representative publications, and contact information for at least three references. The application deadline is December 1, 2025 (midnight CET).
This position is a temporary, full-time postdoctoral appointment with a monthly salary and is intended as a first career step after dissertation. Security clearance may be required for certain roles, in accordance with Swedish law. For further information about SSG's research activities, visit SSG Research.
