About this position
The Venturelli Lab at Duke University is recruiting a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering to pursue interdisciplinary research at the intersection of machine learning, microbial communities, and host–microbe interactions.
The postdoctoral researcher will lead innovative projects aimed at understanding and modeling microbial systems using physics-integrated machine learning approaches. A central part of the role is to develop and apply active learning methods to discover governing equations for microbial communities, with an emphasis on generating research that leads to peer-reviewed publications.
The position also includes scientific writing and publication leadership, including preparing manuscripts, responding to peer review, and contributing to research grant proposals. The postdoctoral associate will mentor junior researchers, collaborate with members of the Venturelli Lab and research partners, and take part in lab activities that support an active and collaborative research environment.
