About this position
Postdoctoral associate position in the X Chen lab at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Ophthalmology, in Pittsburgh, United States.
The lab studies how vision arises from input via the eyes together with imagination and expectation in the brain. The research focuses on neuroscience, vision, non-human primates, electrophysiology, microstimulation, and the use of chronically implanted neuroprostheses with >1000 electrodes to observe and modulate neuronal activity in vivo.
The postdoctoral fellow will work on scientific research involving non-human primates, literature review, experimental design, laboratory procedures, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, report/article writing, presentations, and grant proposal preparation.
Required background includes a PhD in a related field such as neuroscience or bioengineering, strong communication and project management skills, proficiency in Matlab, experience analyzing behavioural and neuronal data, and a record of first-author peer-reviewed publications. Experience with NHPs and electrophysiological techniques is preferred. TB testing will be required after hire.
