About this position
The Lipshutz Lab in the Department of Biology at Duke University is recruiting a full-time postdoctoral associate to contribute to research on how sensory pollutants affect songbird behavior, physiology, and fitness.
The position sits within a broader research program on sexual selection, speciation, and sensory ecology in songbirds and shorebirds. The project combines molecular and field-based approaches to investigate topics such as the genomic basis of reproductive isolation, hormonal and neuro-transcriptomic mechanisms linked to aggression and parental care, and avian responses to anthropogenic sensory pollution.
The successful researcher will take part in a mix of laboratory and field ornithology work, including nucleotide and hormone isolation, PCR, enzyme immunoassay, mist-netting, banding, and blood sampling. The role is collaborative, with close interaction with the principal investigator and other lab members, while also supporting the development of independent research skills in an active research environment.
The lab website is provided for more information about the group and its research.
