About this position

Postdoctoral Associate in Sickle Cell Disease | Agoro Lab | The Jackson Laboratory

The Agoro Lab at The Jackson Laboratory for Mammalian Genetics in Bar Harbor, Maine, USA is recruiting a postdoctoral associate to study mechanisms that trigger sickle cell disease crisis and to investigate disease severity heterogeneity using systems biology.

The project combines genetics, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, CRISPR-based tools, single-cell multi-omics, and mouse model development. The lab works with patient-derived sickle cell disease data and aims to build new disease models that better recapitulate phenotypic heterogeneity seen in patients.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field, with strong training in molecular biology, cell biology, and next-generation sequencing. Experience in computational biology, genetic screens, and single-cell technologies is preferred. A first-author peer-reviewed publication and strong writing/communication skills are also expected.

The position offers a postdoctoral salary on a year-of-experience scale, starting at $65,589 for Year 0-1 and increasing up to $75,569 for Year 5-6. JAX also highlights a strong training environment and professional development opportunities for postdocs.

To apply, submit a CV, three letters of reference, and a one-page statement of Research Interests and Career Goals through the Workday posting.
