About this position
A postdoctoral associate position is available in the group led by Prof. Haining Pan in the Department of Physics at the University of Florida. The project sits at the interface of theoretical and computational quantum information science and condensed matter physics, with research centered on numerical and analytical studies of quantum computing and related quantum materials problems.
The successful researcher will work on topics such as AI-accelerated quantum simulation, materials discovery, quantum machine learning, and topological quantum materials, alongside related areas in quantum information and many-body physics. The advert highlights a strong computational environment, including access to HiPerGator, the university-owned supercomputer provisioned through the group’s institutional allocation.
The group is embedded in a broad and active physics environment at Florida, where the department includes a substantial condensed matter and quantum information community. The wider research setting also connects to the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory through the department’s Microkelvin Laboratory, as well as major collaborations through the Center for Condensed Matter Sciences and the Quantum Theory Project.
The position is research-focused and intended for candidates interested in theoretical work, large-scale computation, and modern data-driven methods applied to quantum many-body and quantum information problems.
