About this position
This postdoctoral associate position is based in the Yuan Laboratory at Virginia Tech and focuses on experimental research in viral immunology and vaccine responses. The project centers on studying T cell responses induced by rotavirus and norovirus vaccines, using flow cytometry together with in vitro and in vivo approaches in gnotobiotic pigs.
The successful candidate will join a research environment that combines laboratory immunology, virology, and animal-based experimentation. Day-to-day work includes technical support for ongoing studies, analysis of immune-cell responses, and preparation of reports and manuscripts. The role is embedded in the Yuan Laboratory’s research program and reports directly to Dr. Lijuan Yuan.
The advertised work draws together vaccine evaluation, viral pathogenesis, immune profiling, and animal-model experimentation, with particular emphasis on flow cytometric assessment of T cell responses and related virological assays. The position is suited to a researcher interested in hands-on translational virology and immunology in a major research university setting.
