About this position
Assistant Professor Natividad Robert Fuentes is recruiting a postdoctoral fellow for the Fuentes Lab at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, United States.
The project is supported by a V Foundation V Scholar award and focuses on how plasma membrane organization shapes antitumor immunity. The lab studies how membrane lipids and biophysical properties regulate immune cell signaling and dysfunction, and whether engineering these properties can improve cellular therapies for solid tumors, including CAR-T and CAR-NK approaches.
Research areas and techniques include T-cell immunology, mouse tumor models, quantitative live-cell imaging, super-resolution imaging, lipidomics, CRISPR-based functional genomics, and membrane engineering for adoptive cell therapies.
Applicants should have completed or be nearing completion of a PhD in immunology, cancer biology, cell biology, biophysics, or a related field. Experience in T-cell biology, flow cytometry, mouse models, genetic engineering, or advanced microscopy would be valuable, and candidates from complementary backgrounds interested in membrane biology are encouraged to apply.
The position offers the chance to lead a funded project, build new technical skills, collaborate across tumor immunology, imaging, and cell engineering, and receive close mentorship with support for fellowship and grant preparation.
To apply, email your CV and a brief description of your research interests to [email protected]. You can also message the poster on LinkedIn for questions. A lab link is included in the post for more information.
