About this position
Postdoctoral Fellow opportunity at the University of Toronto in eye-hand coordination, marker-less motion tracking, human movement science, and sensory-motor control.
The Perceptual-Motor Behaviour Lab in the Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education is seeking an experienced postdoctoral researcher to help develop and apply a new line of research using marker-less limb motion tracking and eye-tracking technologies. The project focuses on how people with different levels of visual acuity coordinate eye and hand movements during everyday object manipulation, in close collaboration with an industry partner.
Research areas and methods: eye-hand coordination, limb and eye tracking, computer vision, machine learning, deep neural networks, kinematic analysis, hardware integration, and human movement science.
Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a PhD in computer science, kinesiology, neuroscience, or a related field, and have strong programming skills in Python. Experience with marker-less motion tracking, machine learning, computer vision, and related research leadership or collaboration is considered an asset.
Funding and terms: this is a full-time postdoctoral fellow appointment for two years (100% FTE). Salary is $70,000 or greater, commensurate with qualifications. External funding may lead to top-up support.
Deadline: applications are reviewed starting June 15, 2026, and will continue until a suitable candidate is identified.
