About this position
The Department of Statistics at the University of California, Berkeley is inviting applications for up to two full-time Postdoctoral Neyman Fellow positions within the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS). The fellowship is designed for an independent research program in Statistics, Probability, Data Science, or a related field, with room to pursue work that connects to the department’s interdisciplinary research culture.
The postdoctoral fellow will join a highly collaborative environment in which faculty and students work across areas such as medicine, public health, the social sciences, and computer science. The role includes active participation in the department’s seminars and research interactions, giving the fellow opportunities to engage closely with Berkeley’s research community.
This is a research-focused postdoctoral appointment with substantial independence: the fellow retains freedom in choosing research directions while benefiting from a Berkeley faculty sponsor who serves as mentor and administrative supervisor. The appointment has no teaching or service duties, and the expected work includes publishing results, presenting at conferences, disseminating findings through professional forums, and contributing to collaborative research activity.
