Wake Forest University is offering a postdoctoral opportunity in Social and Affective Neuroscience, supervised by Professor Christian Waugh. This unique position is designed for early-career scholars interested in both research and teaching, providing mentorship and training in both domains. The successful candidate will engage in research on affective and social neuroscience, with a focus on fMRI and/or EEG methodologies. There are opportunities to participate in an fMRI study on computational modeling of social engagement, apply reinforcement learning models to existing datasets, and potentially conduct EEG studies on emotion and emotion regulation.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field (ABD candidates may also apply). The ideal candidate will have experience or interest in affective and/or social neuroscience, and expertise in fMRI and/or EEG. Additional preferred skills include coding, computational modeling, and reinforcement learning. The postdoc will also have teaching responsibilities, serving as Instructor of Record for two courses per semester at the intersection of Psychology and Neuroscience, such as Biopsychology or Methods in Neuroscience. The position is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for up to two additional years.
