About this position

The Division of Dermatology in the Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is seeking a full-time postdoctoral researcher to join the Vandiver Laboratory. The project focuses on the role of acquired genomic damage in tissue aging and age-related pathology, with particular attention to how acquired mitochondrial genome mutations affect cell function.

The Vandiver lab combines emerging genomic technologies, induced pluripotent cells, and in vitro skin culture to investigate mechanisms relevant to dermatology and aging. The successful candidate will work on designing, executing, and analyzing experiments, preparing manuscripts, presenting findings at scientific forums and conferences, and contributing to multidisciplinary collaborations.

The role also includes participation in training and supervision of students and technicians in the lab. The position is embedded in a medical school research environment at UCLA and is linked to ongoing work in dermatology, genomics, stem cell biology, and metabolism under the direction of Dr. Amy Vandiver.
