About this position
SDU Robotics at the University of Southern Denmark is recruiting one or more postdoctoral researchers for its mobile robotics lab in Odense. The two-year research position focuses on developing robotic solutions for automated agriculture and other applications requiring mobility in open terrain.
The project combines mobile robotics, computer vision, scene understanding, multi-object tracking, and artificial intelligence for autonomous operation in scenarios such as field processing. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the design and integration of AI-based robotic solutions, support deployment in testing facilities at SDU and at project-partner sites, and lead evaluation activities in collaboration with an interdisciplinary consortium.
The researcher will work with colleagues in SDU Robotics, a team of approximately 60 researchers and engineers. The unit develops technologies across disciplinary boundaries for applications including welfare, industrial automation, laboratory automation, healthcare, and agriculture, and maintains extensive collaboration with industrial partners.
SDU Robotics is part of the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute within the Faculty of Engineering. Its Odense campus is located at the core of the Odense Robotics Cluster, providing an international research environment connected with startups and established robotics companies. The role is predominantly research-focused, with possible opportunities for teaching and supervision.
