A fully-funded postdoctoral position in molecular biology is available in the Genome Dynamics and Maintenance group of Dr. Pei-Yun Jenny Wu at the Institute of Biochemistry and Cellular Genetics (IBGC), University of Bordeaux, France. The research focuses on the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe to study DNA replication, genome maintenance, gene organization, gene expression, and cellular physiology. The project aims to understand how cells regulate the alternation between proliferating and non-dividing states, with a particular emphasis on quiescence, a state critical for development, differentiation, and response to external challenges. Quiescence is also relevant to tumorigenesis, metastasis, and cancer therapy resistance. The project will use multidisciplinary approaches and state-of-the-art methodologies, including unique models developed in fission yeast, to address these questions from genome-wide to single-cell levels.

Applicants should have a strong background in genetics and molecular biology, with expertise in next-generation sequencing data analysis highly encouraged. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
