About this position

ERC-funded postdoctoral opportunity in photochemistry, microfluidics, polymersomes, and artificial photosynthesis at the Casadevall Lab, affiliated with Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) and ICIQ in Tarragona, Spain.

The project, supported by the ERC Starting Grant BIOPOLE, focuses on uncovering the mechanistic photochemistry of functionalized photocatalytic polymersomes for artificial photosynthesis, with emphasis on interfacial charge transfer and compartmentalized photocatalysis.

Ideal candidates should have strong expertise in photochemistry and mechanistic spectroscopy, especially transient absorption spectroscopy (TAS), excited-state and charge-transfer dynamics, Stern–Volmer analysis, quenching, and electron-transfer kinetics. Experience in photocatalysis and molecular coordination chemistry is also valued.

The position is fully funded for two years. Deadline: 13 September 2026.
