About this position
The Particle Theory Group in the High Energy Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory is inviting applications for one or more postdoctoral positions in theoretical particle physics, with a strong emphasis on particle phenomenology.
Research in the group spans physics within and beyond the Standard Model, phenomenology at current and future colliders, perturbative QCD and jet physics, hadron structure, detector correlators, and effective field theory. The group also works on applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning to global analyses, as well as quantum information and real-time classical and quantum simulation.
Applicants from all areas of phenomenology are encouraged to apply. Candidates with backgrounds in more formal aspects of quantum field theory and an interest in phenomenological applications are also welcome. The successful candidate is expected to pursue an active, independent research program that strengthens and complements the group’s current work.
The position is based at Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, Illinois, United States. Applications must be submitted via AcademicJobsOnline. A complete application includes a cover letter, CV with publication list, research plan, and three letters of reference.
Deadline: Complete applications received by 2027-01-08 will receive full consideration. The anticipated start date is Fall 2027, with a possible earlier start in Spring 2027 by mutual agreement.
For more information, consult the group website or contact Ian Low at [email protected].
