About this position
Several postdoctoral researchers will join the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the University of Barcelona (ICCUB) to work on holographic applications to cosmology and astrophysics, with a specific focus on gravitational waves.
The project sits at the intersection of relativity and quantum mechanics, and will involve research on topics such as cosmological phase transitions, baryogenesis, neutron star mergers, spacetime singularities, and holography with dynamical boundary gravity. Successful candidates will work with Prof. David Mateos, Prof. Jorge Casalderrey-Solana, and other members of the ICCUB group.
The ICCUB offers a broader research environment in theoretical physics, with several faculty members active in related areas, including Pablo Bueno, Roberto Emparan, Pau Figueras, Bartomeu Fiol, Jaume Garriga, Cristiano Germani, Raul Jimenez, Raimon Luna, and Jorge Russo. The positions are part of a broader European collaboration using a centralized postdoctoral application system.
The appointments are intended to begin in autumn 2027, with flexibility by agreement.
