About this position
Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to join its applied nanotechnology lab in Pittsburgh. The role centers on research projects involving the production and characterization of multivalent DNA origami nanosensors, bringing together molecular design, laboratory experimentation, and quantitative analysis.
The successful candidate will work on cloning and/or synthesis activities related to nucleic acid nanotechnology, helping design and validate molecular sensing circuits and conducting experiments in BSL2 laboratory space. The postdoctoral researcher will also analyze experimental data, generate data-rich visualizations, develop standard operating procedures for key activities, and help train other lab members.
The post is embedded in an active engineering research environment at Carnegie Mellon, where faculty, researchers, and students work across advanced manufacturing, bioengineering, computational engineering, energy and the environment, product design, robotics, and interdisciplinary research centers. The position is a chance to contribute to a technically challenging, multidisciplinary project at a major research university known for applied innovation and collaborative research culture.
