About this position
Texas A&M AgriLife Research is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in Temple, Texas, to support multidisciplinary research in crop modeling, agricultural remote sensing, and geospatial technologies.
The researcher will investigate crop growth and yield, water use, and carbon and nitrogen cycling under different agricultural management practices. Responsibilities include designing and managing field experiments, collecting ground-truth data, analyzing datasets, operating and refining crop models, and improving prediction accuracy. The role also involves applying machine learning and artificial intelligence to crop management, yield prediction, and decision-support systems.
Applicants must have a PhD in Agronomy, Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related discipline, together with strong agricultural remote-sensing experience. Proficiency with remotely sensed geospatial datasets and R or Python is preferred, as are experience or interest in carbon and nitrogen cycling, carbon sequestration, greenhouse-gas emissions, and environmental assessment.
