About this position
Queen Mary University of London is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Design to join a multidisciplinary research team working on biosimilar medicines for multiple sclerosis (MS).
The researcher will contribute to FOCUS-NHS, an NIHR-funded Programme Grant for Applied Research, as part of a co-design work package. The project aims to develop an evidence-informed communication strategy that supports accurate and trusted discussions about biosimilars among patients, healthcare professionals and policy makers.
The postdoctoral researcher will lead design research activities including clinic ethnography, secondary analysis of qualitative data informed by Science and Technology Studies, key informant interviews and analysis of communication artefacts. They will also plan and facilitate mixed-stakeholder co-design workshops involving diverse participants and translate research findings into practical design requirements.
A central part of the role involves prototyping and refining communication materials with their intended users. The researcher will be supported to publish and disseminate findings within the project’s multidisciplinary environment.
The position is based within the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health and preventive medicine. The work connects with the Centre for Preventive Neurology, which conducts research into neurological diseases and strategies to reduce disease and disability.
This opportunity is suited to a design researcher interested in participatory and service design, health communication, qualitative inquiry, stakeholder collaboration and the development of user-centred materials for complex healthcare issues.
