About this position

King’s College London is recruiting two postdoctoral researchers for the Pavri Group, led by Dr. Rushad Pavri, in the School of Immunology & Microbial Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine.

The project focuses on DNA replication timing, chromosomal translocations, B cells, immunology, cancer biology, and genomics. The lab studies how somatic hypermutation and DNA double-strand breaks contribute to genome instability and tumorigenic rearrangements, with a particular interest in mechanisms that drive translocation biogenesis at proto-oncogenes and immunoglobulin loci.

This CRUK-funded postdoctoral project combines CRISPR engineering of B cells, protein biochemistry, replication timing measurements, replication origin mapping, translocation-capture sequencing, and 3D genome architecture analyses. Candidates will work on identifying factors that establish early replication timing, understanding how these factors promote translocation formation, and testing mechanisms in preclinical models.

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant biomedical science field, or be near completion. Strong publication record, molecular biology and genomics experience, biochemistry knowledge, critical thinking, independence, and teamwork are emphasized. Experience in B cells, immunology, cancer biology, gene regulation, DNA replication, next-generation sequencing, or bioinformatics is desirable but not essential.

The position is full-time (35 hours/week) and fixed term until 31 January 2030, with possible extension. The deadline is 30 September 2026. Interviews are expected on 2–4 November 2026.
