About this position
This postdoctoral position is based at the Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford, and is part of a large-scale research programme in mathematical physics. The successful researcher will work with Professors Mezei, Schafer-Nameki, and Sparks and join a research group focused on contemporary problems at the interface of mathematics and theoretical physics.
The project offers several connected research directions, including many-body quantum chaos, the application of generalized symmetries to many-body quantum systems and quantum information, and low-dimensional or twisted holography together with its interplay with generalized symmetries. The appointee will contribute to this programme through independent and collaborative research, including collaboration with other members of the Oxford group and with mathematicians internationally.
The role is embedded in the wider Mathematical Physics research group and includes contributing to the dissemination of results through refereed journal articles and conference proceedings. The advert highlights the department’s Athena SWAN Silver Award and the university’s Race Equality Charter Bronze Award, indicating an active research environment within a major mathematical sciences department.
