About this position
Washington University in St. Louis is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Pathology & Immunology to join the laboratory of Dr. Aydan Szeto. The project focuses on discovering new pathways that regulate type-2 immunity, with specific emphasis on ILC2 and Th2 cell biology. The lab has already used cutting-edge CRISPR screens and developed a first-of-its-kind “Boolean mouse” for in vivo ILC2 studies, offering a highly active and technically sophisticated research environment.
The position is based on campus at the Washington University Medical Campus in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. The postdoc will work closely with Dr. Szeto at the start and will also have the opportunity to develop independent research plans and objectives. Core responsibilities include leading a research project, applying advanced experimental techniques, drafting scientific papers, contributing to publication efforts, and helping train PhD and undergraduate students.
Preferred background includes immunology, knowledge of human and/or mouse immune cell function, flow cytometry, mouse handling and tissue processing, transcriptomics, computational and bioinformatic analysis, microscopy, mouse model generation and analysis, human sample handling, and molecular biology methods such as CRISPR, cloning, and qPCR. Experience with primary immune cell culture and viral transduction methods is also valued.
Required qualification: a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent terminal/doctoraI degree. No specific certification, license, or prior work experience is required. Salary is commensurate with experience. To apply, submit a cover letter, CV, and three letters of recommendation by email to [email protected]. There is no stated deadline in the posting.
