About this position
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Yang Laboratory in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Center for Pharmacogenomics.
The project investigates the genetic and molecular basis of variability in treatment response in childhood cancer. Research integrates pharmacogenomics, multi-omics and computational analyses, experimental functional genomics, and precision medicine, with emphasis on targeted agents and immunotherapeutics.
Current research directions include genetic and multi-omic mechanisms of anticancer drug efficacy and treatment-related toxicity; single-cell studies of targeted-therapy response and immunotherapy resistance in childhood leukemia; large-scale gene-drug interaction studies using functional genomics; and chemical biology approaches involving molecular glues and proteolysis-targeting chimeras for high-risk leukemias.
The successful candidate will be an experienced bench scientist with expertise in experimental biology and/or molecular pharmacology, lead an independent subproject, collaborate with clinicians, statistical geneticists, and computational biologists, publish peer-reviewed research, and pursue external postdoctoral fellowship and funding opportunities.
Applicants need a PhD or equivalent in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, genetics, molecular biology, or a related biomedical field. PharmD or MD candidates with substantial research experience may also be considered. A publication record and experience in pharmacology, human genetics, functional genomics, genome editing, or animal models are required. CRISPR screening, drug-sensitivity profiling, cancer biology, cancer therapy, or treatment-related toxicity experience is preferred.
The position is full time and offers a starting salary of $72,500 per year, comprehensive benefits, generous relocation assistance, research resources, and professional-development support. The application deadline is December 29, 2026.
