About this position

The University of Cambridge is offering up to two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in Pure Mathematics within the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics.

Each postdoctoral researcher will develop and conduct an individual programme of research, typically becoming associated with one of the department’s research groups and working with a Faculty mentor. The role offers an opportunity to establish an independent research profile within a leading mathematical research environment while developing connections across the department and beyond.

In addition to research, the successful candidate may have opportunities to lecture at Masters level, assist with student research projects, or contribute to small-group teaching. The role combines independent planning and management of research and related administration with collaboration, technical communication, and engagement with internal and external academic contacts.

Informal enquiries may be directed to Professor Ivan Smith. The position is based in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at the University of Cambridge.
