About this position
The Advanced Ultrasound Research Laboratory (AURL) at Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) is recruiting a postdoctoral research associate for work funded by the InnoCORE Initiative, which focuses on multiscale brain digital twin convergence research.
The project centers on robotic and therapeutic ultrasound, particularly robot-guided focused ultrasound for imaging, neuromodulation, and therapy. The researcher will develop robotic ultrasound systems that support autonomous probe positioning, image-guided targeting, and closed-loop treatment delivery. The work also includes designing focused ultrasound platforms for neuromodulation and therapeutic applications, including transcranial beam steering and aberration correction.
A major computational component involves GPU-accelerated pipelines for real-time beamforming, acoustic simulation, and treatment planning. The researcher will contribute to system validation through phantom, ex-vivo, in-vivo, and pre-clinical experiments. The research environment combines biomedical engineering, medical robotics, ultrasound imaging, therapeutic acoustics, computational methods, and brain-focused translational research within AURL at DGIST in Daegu.
The position offers an opportunity to work on integrated ultrasound technology spanning robotics, imaging, neuromodulation, therapy, acoustic simulation, and real-time computation.
