About this position

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore is recruiting a full-time Research Fellow (Postdoctoral) in Coral Reef Ecosystems at the Earth Observatory of Singapore. The initial appointment is for 12 months, with possible extension subject to project needs and funding.

Working under Assistant Professor Kyle Morgan, the Fellow will integrate existing and newly collected photoquadrat, multiscale photogrammetry and environmental datasets to identify spatial patterns and temporal trends in ecological processes and carbonate budgets across South and Southeast Asia.

Research priorities include coral reef ecology, coral bleaching, reef resilience, climate-driven ecological change, benthic community identification and carbonate budgets. The Fellow will lead quantitative analyses, develop frontier research questions, conduct or contribute to regional scientific-diving field campaigns, build collaborations and lead peer-reviewed publications, reports and presentations.

Applicants should hold a PhD in marine science, marine ecology or a related field, demonstrate a strong publication record, and have expertise in coral and benthic identification, coral reef fieldwork and scientific diving. Advanced Open Water or Rescue Diver certification and strong R/Python data-analysis skills are required. Experience with photoquadrats, photogrammetry or Agisoft Metashape is desirable.

Applications should be submitted through the NTU Workday portal using requisition R00025837. The posting does not state a specific closing date or detailed salary and benefits.
