About this position
Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Malaria Immunology at The University of Queensland (Institute for Molecular Bioscience, St Lucia Campus, Brisbane, Australia).
This is a full-time fixed-term postdoctoral opening for up to 12 months in a multidisciplinary and globally connected research environment. The project focuses on molecular immunology, malaria immunology, systems immunology, host immune responses, and multi-omics analysis to understand immune mechanisms that inform next-generation therapeutics and vaccine development.
You will work with human samples and advanced approaches such as multi-parameter flow cytometry, proteomics, bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, integrated multi-omics, coding/computational biology, and data integration across multi-timepoint and multi-modal datasets. The role also includes mentoring PhD students and junior researchers, contributing to supervision, and supporting collaborative funding applications.
Eligibility highlights: a completed PhD in Immunology and Vaccinology; expertise in cellular immunity, human specimen-based molecular immunology, controlled human infection models, liver-stage immunity, host-pathogen interactions, and omics/systems immunology; proficiency in R or Python; strong publication record; and excellent teamwork, organisation, and project management skills. Experience with human in vitro co-culture models and CD8+ T-cell responses is desirable.
Funding/salary: AUD 106,293.57–113,659.72 per year plus 17% superannuation (Academic Level A). The post mentions relocation support/work rights assistance and access to UQ research support, but it is not a scholarship.
Application window: applications close Friday 11 September 2026 at 11:00pm AEST. Applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, and responses to the 'About You' section via the application process; email applications are not accepted.
