About this position
Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is recruiting a Post-doctoral Research Fellow / Research Scientist in translational cancer research within Hanna Irie’s lab in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology.
The project focuses on regulators of growth, survival, drug resistance, metastasis, and the tumor microenvironment in breast and other cancers, with special emphasis on triple negative breast cancer and immune effectors. The fellow will use genetic, cell biological, and in vivo approaches, including patient-derived xenograft models and organoid cultures, to screen and validate novel therapeutic strategies. The role also includes collaboration with chemists to develop therapeutics for clinical translation and study how the immune microenvironment affects response to chemotherapy and targeted therapies.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD is required. Strong experience in cancer cell biology/models, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or immunology is required, with animal tumor models and flow cytometry preferred. English proficiency is recommended; Japanese communication is also possible in the lab.
