About this position
The laboratory of Professor Katherine (Kallie) Willets in the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University is recruiting multiple postdoctoral scholars for research in single-entity characterization using optical and electrochemical microscopy tools.
The project investigates how structure at the level of individual nanoparticles influences function. Researchers will study how heterogeneity in nanoparticle morphology, interfaces, and local environments affects performance in electrochemical, catalytic, and sensing applications. The work combines advanced microscopy with quantitative structure–function analysis of single nanoparticles.
The successful researcher will contribute to optical microscopy studies of single entities and may be involved in instrumentation development and design. The role is intended for an independent, self-motivated scientist who can lead research projects while participating in collaborative efforts within the chemistry research environment.
The appointment is based at Penn State University Park and offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of analytical chemistry, nanoscience, electrochemistry, optical microscopy, catalysis, and sensing.
