The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for Postdoctoral Research Scholar positions in a wide range of fields, including General Neurology, Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Cognitive Neurology, Neuroepidemiology, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuro-Oncology, Neuropsychology, Quantitative Brain Imaging, Pain Management, Sleep, Experimental Therapeutics, Biomarkers and Precision Medicine, and Stroke. Postdoctoral scholars will conduct research under the general oversight of a faculty mentor and are expected to contribute to the academic community by enhancing the research and education programs of the university. The positions are full-time and dependent upon extramural funding, with a minimum appointment of one year. Initial appointments are for two years, with the possibility of renewal based on the availability of support.
The total service as a postdoctoral scholar at UC Irvine and other institutions cannot exceed five years. The salary range for these positions is $66,737-$80,034 per year, determined by experience level according to the UC postdoctoral scholar salary scales. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) or be working toward completion of a doctoral degree at the time of application, with the degree obtained by the start of the appointment. A strong background in neurology, neuroscience, or a related field is required, and preference will be given to candidates who have recently obtained their doctoral degree.
