About this position

The Vasquez-Vivar Lab in the Department of Biophysics at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join a multidisciplinary program studying fetal brain injury and the mechanisms underlying acquired motor disorders in children.

The project combines redox biology, biochemistry, and preclinical models to investigate gain- and loss-of-function relationships and to identify opportunities for therapeutic perinatal interventions. The lab emphasizes redox cell biology and offers the chance to develop new experimental approaches while leading research projects in a collaborative, well-resourced setting.

The Department of Biophysics is described as having strengths in redox and structural biology as well as biomedical imaging, including EPR, NMR, and MRI. The broader institution highlights integration of basic science, clinical research, and education within a collaborative academic medicine environment focused on biomedical discovery and human health.

The role includes experimental work across molecular, biochemical, cellular, and imaging-related methods, with opportunities to contribute to manuscripts, scientific presentations, mentoring, and grant development.
