About this position
Mohammed VI Polytechnic University’s Green Tech Institute (GTI) in Benguerir, Morocco, is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning and sustainable energy systems.
The research will focus on advanced AI/ML algorithms for battery management systems used in electric mobility and micromobility applications. The researcher will develop and optimise models for state-of-charge (SOC) and state-of-health (SOH) prediction, helping improve the safety, efficiency and service life of lithium iron phosphate batteries.
The project involves analysing large datasets from battery systems, developing predictive analytics for real-time battery-health monitoring and fault detection, and integrating AI models with embedded systems and hardware engineering workflows. The role also includes optimising AI/ML pipelines for resource-constrained environments and edge-AI applications.
The postdoctoral researcher will collaborate with engineers and PhD students, guide doctoral researchers, and contribute to scientific publications, conference presentations, patents and other technical innovations. The work is situated within GTI’s broader research environment on energy transition, circular economy and sustainable construction production, supporting research and innovation for sustainable development in Africa.
