About this position
University College Cork is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in Biochemistry & Cell Biology for the TRIBeCA project, a 30-month fixed-term, full-time research post based in Cork, Ireland.
The project, Tracking Recycling in Brain Cancer: The TRIBeCA Study, investigates how dysregulation of the endosomal recycling pathway contributes to glioblastoma invasion and resistance to therapy, with the goal of identifying novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team and will develop and apply advanced 3D human cellular models that mimic glioblastoma infiltration of healthy brain tissue.
This position is especially suitable for researchers with experience in human iPSC-derived models, protein biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, and high-resolution confocal imaging. The postholder will lead two project work packages, contribute to experimental design and data analysis, and support the supervision and mentorship of undergraduate and postgraduate researchers.
The appointment is at University College Cork, School of Biochemistry & Cell Biology, and is supported by an annual salary on the IUA PD1 Research Salary Scale of €47,273 - €53,925 p.a. Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent. The role is open to recognised researchers at R2 level and is advertised as a postdoc position. For informal inquiries, contact Dr. Andrew Lindsay (Principal Investigator) at [email protected]. Applications must be submitted online through the UCC vacancy portal.
Deadline: 13 November 2026, 12:00 (Europe/Dublin).
