About this position
Kanazawa University’s Nano Life Science Institute (NanoLSI) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher in biophysics and high-speed atomic force microscopy (high-speed AFM). The position is part of a research environment focused on nanometrology, life sciences, and advanced bio-SPM technologies.
The Shibata Laboratory studies the bio-applications of high-speed AFM, including single-molecule imaging of proteins and nucleic acids, cell imaging, recombinant protein expression and purification, and development of applied technologies such as novel AFM substrates for observing enzymatic reactions. The lab also welcomes interdisciplinary work on the applicant’s own research topics.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree, or expect to obtain one by the start date. Strong research ability, English-language research capability, communication skills, and publication/presentation experience are required. Experience in biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, structural biology, neuroscience, or applied physics is expected, and international collaborative research experience is desirable.
The appointment is full-time and fixed-term, starting as early as possible after 2027-04-01 and ending on 2028-03-31, with possible renewal up to a total employment period of 3 years. Salary starts at approximately 4 million yen per year, and social insurance/employment insurance are provided.
