About this position
Postdoctoral position in Cryptosporidium functional genomics at the ESCAPE Research Unit, Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne in Reims, France.
This postdoctoral project focuses on the poorly characterized LCCL-domain proteins in Cryptosporidium and aims to uncover previously unrecognized functions and developmental phenotypes through a discovery-driven research programme.
The work will combine targeted CRISPR screening, functional genomics, Cryptosporidium biology, fluorescence microscopy, cellular phenotyping, and broader molecular and cell biology approaches. The project offers substantial scope for the successful candidate to develop experimental strategies and follow up unexpected findings.
Applicants should hold a PhD in parasitology, microbiology, molecular biology, cell biology, infection biology, or a related field. Prior experience with Cryptosporidium is not required. Helpful experience includes CRISPR/Cas genome engineering, functional genomics, Apicomplexa, parasite biology, microscopy, or quantitative phenotyping.
The position is 24 months long and is expected to start in late 2026 or early 2027. The post is funded by Coefficient Giving.
