About this position
The Nanomedicine Group at IDIVAL – Instituto de Investigación Marqués de Valdecilla in Santander, Spain, is offering a postdoctoral research position in microfluidics within the project DTS24/00023, funded through the ISCIII call Desarrollo Tecnológico en Salud (DTS).
The project is centered on the development of innovative microfluidic technologies for encapsulation of nucleic acids. The successful researcher will contribute to the design, optimization, and characterization of microfluidic systems for the controlled production of nucleic-acid-containing nanostructures, working at the intersection of microfluidics, nanotechnology, biomaterials, molecular biology, and biomedicine.
This opportunity is aimed at researchers with a strong background in microfluidics, ideally complemented by experience in microfluidic device design or fabrication, microfluidic systems for nanoparticle synthesis, nanomaterials and nanomedicine, nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, and broader biomedical applications of micro- and nanotechnologies. Experience in developing and optimizing microfluidic platforms for controlled nanoparticle production will be especially valued.
The position is full-time and offered as a permanent postdoctoral contract. Funding and salary conditions will follow the employment framework established by IDIVAL for the corresponding postdoctoral researcher category. The work will be carried out in Santander, Cantabria, Spain, within a multidisciplinary research environment.
Eligibility requirements include holding a PhD or equivalent in a relevant scientific or technological discipline such as Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related area. The doctoral degree must already be officially recognised/equivalent in Spain when required, and applicants must have previous research experience in microfluidics. Candidates must also have sufficient English or Spanish to work effectively in an international scientific environment.
Applicants should submit a complete application by 15 December 2026. The application should include a motivation letter (maximum 1 page), a CV with education, academic qualifications, research experience, technical expertise, publications, relevant projects and collaborations, and contact information. An updated professional profile link (for example, LinkedIn, institutional webpage, ORCID, or Google Scholar) may be included if available. A copy of the PhD diploma and documentation proving degree recognition/equivalence in Spain, when applicable, are required, and referee details or reference letters are optional.
Applications are to be submitted through the official IDIVAL recruitment procedure. For more information, applicants can consult the IDIVAL website and the linked project/group pages. Contact emails listed in the posting include [email protected] and IDIVAL contact addresses.
