About this position
The Kiyoto Kasai Laboratory at the International Research Organization for Neurointelligence (IRCN), University of Tokyo, is seeking a specially appointed researcher equivalent to a postdoctoral fellow for a team-science project in translational psychiatry.
The research examines the brain pathology of mental illnesses, particularly schizophrenia, using multi-layered data from humans and model animals. The project integrates MRI, omics, molecular biology, peripheral blood samples, and translational models to investigate disease mechanisms and connect human findings with experimental systems.
The successful researcher will manage human peripheral blood samples, plan and carry out sample analyses, analyze multi-layered human data or translation models involving animals, and contribute to the preparation of research papers. The role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative research environment focused on pathophysiological neuroscience and the biological basis of psychiatric disorders.
The position is based in the Kiyoto Kasai Laboratory within the University of Tokyo’s Institute for Advanced Study and International Research Organization for Neurointelligence in Hongo, Tokyo.
