Postdoctoral Researcher (M/F) – NF-κB, Proteasome, Cancer and Immunology Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale in France

Inserm is recruiting a 3-year postdoctoral researcher to join the Cell Signaling and Pathogenesis team in Paris, France. The project focuses on NF-κB signaling, the proteasome, and ubiquitination in the context of multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma. The work is funded by the French National Cancer Institute (INCa) and is based in a multidisciplinary scientific environment with links to the Institut Pasteur, the Toulouse Cancer Research Center (CRCT), and clinicians from AP-HP.

The postdoctoral project combines fundamental and translational research. On the basic science side, the successful candidate will investigate the molecular mechanisms and new regulators controlling NF-κB activation in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines, as well as the composition and dynamics of NF-κB activation complexes. On the applied side, the project aims to identify therapeutic targets and evaluate pharmacological strategies in models of multiple myeloma and mantle cell lymphoma, including bortezomib-sensitive and bortezomib-resistant cells. The project may also extend into immunology, inflammation, and infection-related questions.

The team has already identified novel NF-κB regulators associated with the ubiquitin-proteasome system and characterized supramolecular complexes involved in NF-κB activation using mass spectrometry. Candidate compounds discovered through pharmacological screening are promising therapeutic leads, including for resistant cancer models. The position is therefore well suited to a researcher interested in cell signaling, cancer biology, proteomics, and targeted therapy.

Requirements: a PhD or equivalent in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, immunology, pharmacology, or a related field. The team seeks a curious, rigorous, independent scientist with strong teamwork skills and the ability to generate scientific hypotheses. Practical experience in cell culture, Western blotting, immunofluorescence/microscopy, CRISPR/Cas9, protein-protein interactions, signaling studies, proteomics, flow cytometry, and cell-based pharmacology is desirable. Good English is required.

Funding and conditions: the post is full-time and temporary for 3 years. Salary starts at €2,997.20 gross per month, depending on experience, with possible increases for equivalent prior experience. A monthly transport pass in Paris is 75% covered by the institution.
