About this position
Open call for a postdoctoral researcher at the Nanomedical Innovation Center of the Kawasaki City Industrial Promotion Foundation in Kanagawa, Japan.
The project is part of Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Academic Transformation Areas (B) (R8-10), Project A01, “Construction of a Molecular Basis for the Implementation of Intracellular Shuttles.” The research aims to clarify the molecular structure, properties, and functions needed for intracellular shuttles and to establish molecular design guidelines for future medical applications.
Research activities span biomaterials, polymer chemistry, chemical biology, pharmaceutical analysis, and cell biology, with hands-on work in polymer synthesis, peptide synthesis, physicochemical analysis, in vitro evaluation, and in vivo evaluation. The successful candidate will also participate in area meetings, symposia, and related research-area activities.
Eligibility highlights: a PhD in biomaterials, DDS, peptide science, polymer chemistry, pharmacy, cell biology, or a related field (or expected completion by appointment); experimental experience in synthesis/analysis/cell or animal experiments is preferred; basic Japanese and English communication skills; ability to write academic papers in English; and a collaborative, proactive research attitude.
Funding and employment: fixed-term contract employment, generally until March 31, 2029, with annual income from 4 million yen and standard benefits including commuting allowance and social insurance.
Deadline: applications must arrive between October 19, 2026 and December 25, 2026. The search may close early once a suitable candidate is found.
How to apply: submit a CV, research history, publication list (highlighting three representative papers), and names/contact details of 2–3 referees. Applications can be submitted via the JREC-IN Portal Web or by email to [email protected].
