About this position
Prairie View A&M University’s National Center for Infrastructure Transformation (NCIT) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Transportation Engineering to contribute to interdisciplinary research on surface transportation infrastructure systems.
The postdoctoral researcher will lead and support funded projects that address transportation infrastructure systems, systems engineering methodologies, and emerging transportation technologies. The role sits within NCIT, where the appointee will work collaboratively with NCIT leadership and faculty researchers on programs aligned with the goals of the U.S. Department of Transportation University Transportation Center Program.
Beyond research delivery, the position emphasizes building NCIT’s research capacity and external funding profile. The researcher is expected to help develop new grant proposals, produce peer-reviewed publications and grant reports, and collaborate with internal and external teams on interdisciplinary projects. The post also includes mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, contributing to research dissemination, and helping plan and operationalize NCIT research labs through coordination of equipment and software procurement with guidance from the NCIT Director.
The appointment is embedded in a university research environment that combines teaching, research, and service, and it offers opportunities to participate in seminars, workshops, and outreach activities while supporting NCIT’s broader professional development goals.
