About this position
Two postdoctoral researchers will join the mathematics department at the Center for Systems Biology Dresden (CSBD) to develop mathematics aimed at open problems in the life sciences. The positions sit within an interdisciplinary research environment that connects applied and computational mathematics with nearby experimental groups and biological research at the institute.
The advertised research areas span a broad set of mathematically driven topics, with an emphasis on work that can transfer concepts and structures from mathematics into biological sciences. The institute is especially interested in candidates working in applied algebraic geometry and topology, computational geometry and topology, differential equations, stochastics, mathematical modelling, mathematical statistics, and data science.
The postdoctoral researchers will be expected to collaborate closely with at least one research group at the institute, supporting projects that interface with biologists for scientific impact. The role is based in a dynamic international research setting and is associated with the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden.
Inquiries about scientific fields may be directed to the two group leaders recruiting for these positions, Heather Harrington and Türkü Özlüm Çelik.
