About this position
The Department of Mathematics in the Eberly College of Science at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar for an anticipated August 2027 start at the Penn State University Park campus in the United States.
The postdoctoral researcher will work with Dr. Karol Bacik in fluid dynamics and soft matter. Research activities will include laboratory experiments in the department’s Pritchard Laboratory and development of data-driven mathematical models. Applicants with experience in fluid mechanics, soft matter, or complex systems are encouraged to apply. Laboratory-experiment experience is strongly preferred, while expertise in data-driven modeling is valued but not required.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field before beginning the appointment and demonstrate exceptional research potential. Teaching may be required. The position is a term appointment, with duration discussed during the interview. Continued employment depends on university need, performance, and funding availability. Penn State provides a competitive benefits package for full-time employees, although no salary or stipend amount is listed.
