About this position
The University of Tokyo’s Tsunoda Lab, affiliated with the Graduate School of Science and the Faculty of Science/Frontier Sciences, is recruiting a Project Research Fellow at the postdoctoral/researcher level and a Project Assistant Professor. The laboratory conducts biomedical research that combines molecular observation, mathematical science, and computational science to address diseases such as cancer.
The project uses biomedical data from numerous clinical samples, including spatial transcriptomics, other spatiotemporal omics data, nanopore signal data, imaging data, and clinical information. Researchers will apply data-science methods such as deep learning, machine learning, and quantum computing to investigate cancer mechanisms, predict treatment efficacy and prognosis, and develop methods for early detection.
The role is suited to researchers interested in systems genomics, life and health informatics, computational science, cancer biology, and large-scale biomedical data analysis. The lab’s research environment brings together medical science, molecular data analysis, mathematical methodology, and advanced computational approaches to support more precise and individualized treatment.
The positions are based at the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Science in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, within the Department of Biological Sciences, Graduate School of Science.
