The Energy Control and Optimization Laboratory (ECO Lab) at the University of New Hampshire (UNH), led by Prof. Arezoo Hasankhani, is seeking motivated candidates for two PhD positions starting Spring/Fall 2026.
??Focus Areas:
Project 1 – Cybersecurity for Wave Energy Converters (WECs): Protect WECs, AI/ML anomaly detection, cyber-physical impact analysis
Project 2 – Integration of WECs into Smart Microgrids: Real-time simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), WEC-Sim + power system integration

Project 2: Candidates with background in smart grids, real-time simulation, or HIL systems
Proficient in Python/MATLAB; strong teamwork & communication
