About this position
The University of Hong Kong School of Public Health invites applications for several full-time Research Assistant Professor (RAP) and Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) positions in Epidemiology or Biostatistics.
Applicants must hold a research doctorate in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or a related discipline. Strong quantitative skills and experience analysing large and complex epidemiological datasets using R, STATA, SAS, or comparable statistical software are required. Expertise in longitudinal analysis, multilevel modelling, data visualisation, and advanced epidemiological or statistical models is desirable.
The appointees will undertake applied and methodological epidemiology and biostatistics research using a population-based cohort of more than 46,000 participants across 20,000 households. Responsibilities include power and sample-size estimation, preparing tables and figures, writing scientific publications, grant proposals and reports, and supporting cohort operations. One position will contribute to the World Health Organization World Mental Health Survey Initiative and the Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI), a major cross-national mental health study.
RAP appointments are offered on a two- to three-year fixed-term basis, while PDF appointments are temporary for one to three years. Candidates with relevant postdoctoral experience and an excellent publication record may be considered for the RAP level and may lead the cohort team.
The package includes a competitive salary, annual leave, medical benefits, and, for RAP appointments, a contract-end gratuity and University retirement-benefit contribution totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Apply online with an up-to-date CV. Applications are reviewed from June 25, 2026 until December 9, 2026, or until the positions are filled.
